Honkajoki

Honkajoki is Finland’s leading handler and processor of animal by-products. They manufacture high-quality, clean, and safe products from organic by-products generated in meat production for various industrial customers.

Honkajoki Ltd. faced a challenge familiar to many industrial organizations. They had multiple systems in use, a lot of data stored in different places, and it was not easily accessible. Those who needed information had to gather it from several sources and combine it themselves. The goal was to collect data from different sources into one place and make it more easily and efficiently usable.

The collaboration has been smooth and in good spirits. Timeless choices have been made in the system, without taking the easiest route. The amount of work in the project has unexpectedly turned out to be larger than initially thought. There have been situations where the initially planned approach has turned out to be a weak option. We have been able to flexibly switch to another solution if it has been noticed that previous choices do not serve the whole, will become obstacles in the future, or have become too expensive.
